Pilcher Hershman & Partners LLP Goes Global

April 5, 2006

Pilcher Hershman & Partners LLP, the property specialist, has become one of the first companies in the UK to take advantage of Global, a new web-based Fire Risk Assessment management system, specifically tailored to support the Fire Safety Manager within a multi-site organisation.

Pilcher Hershman & Partners LLP are able to view all the elements of their fire risk assessments for their entire property portfolio on line

The system effectively manages live fire risk assessment data from multiple locations, allowing it to be shared locally and nationally by authorised company personnel to maximise the efficiency and accountability of their fire risk assessment strategies.

“Managers within multi-site businesses such as Pilcher Hershman & Partners often hold many different fire risk assessment documents spanning their complete portfolio of properties,” explains Suzanne Donovan, Marketing and Communications Director of Chubb Fire. “These may have been duplicated or even triplicated for regional and branch managers to view and action.

“By holding your risk assessment on a secure, off-site web-based management system, authorised personnel can share the stored information, regardless of their location. It means they have complete visibility of their fire risk assessment documents and schedules, and both local and national management are able to track and monitor progress and improvements in fire safety.”

As a bespoke technology, Global can be tailored to replicate an organisation’s reporting structure, thereby providing extensive management analysis in a concise format. The management analysis enables organisations to prioritise contravention management in accordance with agreed timescales, and the information can be organised either by risk severity or site location.

In terms of functionality, Global enables managers to view photographs of each site and any specific risks identified, and also allows CAD plans to be reviewed on-line. Working with Chubb Fire’s consultants, these plans can be marked with specific areas where potential contraventions have been noted, and a complete asset register can be compiled of fire safety equipment for each premises.

Bob Harper, Safety & Facilities Manager for Pilcher Hershman & Partners comments: “We have a portfolio of more than 100 properties, a significant proportion of which are multi-tenanted buildings. Global helps us to manage the tenants within our buildings, to ensure they are compliant. It gives us a management overview of our entire portfolio, identifying any issues that might be outstanding and any discrepancies in real time.

“It is a very useful tool,” he concludes, “and we are currently working closely with Chubb Fire in further bespoking the system to our needs.”
