Harley-Davidson motorcycles install Chubb Electronic Security visitor express

June 29, 2006

Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, the world’s leading manufacturer of iconic motorcycles, has installed Visitor Express, an electronic visitor management system from SISYS, a division of Chubb Electronic Security, for its new European Headquarters in Oxford.

“The installation of Visitor Express has increased the perception of security whilst improving the corporate profile of Harley-Davidson Europe,” explains SISYS’ General Manager, Colin Leatherbarrow. “Visitors are pre-booked via the integral ‘expected visitor module’, and identified with ease by the scanning of a business card; should the visitor not be expected, the business card details are used to continue an efficient, professional booking.”

Sue Matarewicz of Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd comments: “We took the opportunity in moving to our new state-of-the-art offices in Oxford to install better and more effective security equipment.  We have found that it is far more efficient and cost-effective to run than the old manual signing-in system.  SISYS listened to our needs and implemented a solution accordingly. The software also offers us the opportunity to expand in the future.”

“We are also interested in the SISYS’ Intranet Visit Booking module that allows the host to pre-book their own visitors and meeting rooms.”

A ceiling mounted Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera allows image capture without the need of a visitor to move, allowing efficient production of a full colour paper pass. All passes are personalised with the famous Harley-Davidson logo, visitor photograph, visitor name, company name, expiry date, identifying barcode and host details. This allows Harley-Davidson staff to identify visitors within the site whilst enhancing their company profile.

The use of a barcode allows the visitor to be logged in/out for the duration of the visit, ensuring that in the event of an emergency, visitors on-site can be identified and linked with a host quickly and accurately.

The open-plan auditorium displaying a selection of the companies world-class motorcycles ensures that a visitor will not forget the visit, and Visitor Express also remembers the Visitor with their Photo, personal information and visit details stored for the next time, or if an incident report is subsequently required.

Since 1903, Harley-Davidson has produced what are widely acknowledged as being the most enduring and recognisable motorcycles in the world.
