A Chubb employee has his company to thank for helping him to finish an MBA course from City University.

Mubbashir Khan, of Chubb Fire's Sunbury-based Central Accounting Team studied towards the Masters degree course part-time over two years, supported by UTC's Employee Scholarship Programme (ESP).
Mubbashir joined Chubb Fire six years ago and decided to take the course to further his career, as he explains: "The MBA programme offers an internationally recognised standard. I joined the course to see how all functions of the business operate and to learn how the business can be moved forward.
"I studied for the MBA part-time over two years, attending weekend lectures and completing coursework and exams. Over the course of the programme, I learnt many things which have helped in day-to-day work, and the course gave me an excellent insight into the business world and how a company such as UTC can develop and grow.
"The ESP offers a great opportunity within UTC and I was very grateful for the support it provided, both in allowing time off for coursework, and for covering the course fees. It was a lot of hard work and a big time commitment, especially with a young family, but already it has been worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others," he says.
Jane Garland, Chubb Fire's Marketing and Communications Manager said, "Congratulations to Mubbashir for completing this course. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication to successfully complete a degree while working full time. "As a leading provider of fire solutions, we are committed to excellence in all that we do. The Employee Scholarship Programme demonstrates this commitment to our employees in equipping them with all the necessary skills to succeed." Under the programme, which is open to all employees, Chubb Fire's parent company, UTC, pays for all tuition, books and academic fees. Employees can choose any field of study, not necessarily job related, provided that a nationally recognised institution is offering the degree course.
