Sudden Cardiac Arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere. It is a leading cause of death and survival depends on immediate CPR and defibrillation of the heart within 3-5 minutes after collapse. After 10 minutes there is no realistic chance of survival. Early defibrillation with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is in fact the only treatment.
