"UTC Building & Industrial Systems creates and maintains comfortable, accessible, efficient, healthy, safe, secure and sustainable environments," said Lindsay Harvey, president, UTC Building & Industrial Systems UK and managing director, Otis UK. "Our sustainability knowledge is also shared through our website, www.NaturalLeader.com. We welcome peer review with UK-GBC colleagues, particularly as we finalise the creation of our shared service-centre in Blackburn, England. We have a great opportunity to embed strong sustainability practices into this new office."

Harvey; Alastair Reynolds, managing director, Chubb Fire & Security UK; and Richard Jones, managing director, Carrier HVAC UK met with UK-GBC Chief Executive Officer Julie Hirigoyen to sign the pledge.

"As the world's largest provider of building technologies, UTC Building & Industrial Systems can play a leading role as a responsible and sustainable business," said Hirigoyen. "We congratulate them for making this commitment to ensuring their practices are environmentally responsible, ethical and transparent. By signing our Member Commitment, United Technologies joins more than 100 UK-GBC members who are actively championing our mission to create a more sustainable built environment. We look forward to working closely with staff to help the company advance its sustainability initiatives."
