Chubb Community Care, a leading provider of technologies and solutions to support independent living, will exhibit its range of technology enabled care solutions (TECS) at BRE’s Dementia Friendly Home Refurbishment Event on 1st June 2016. Chubb is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Chubb will showcase its homecare solution at the BRE Innovation Park, Ravenscraig supporting both personal safety and independent living. CareUnity® is a flexible carephone that can monitor more than 40 different alert devices using the latest cutting-edge technology.
The CareUnity® system was designed with ease of use in mind. When an alarm on the carephone unit or any of the connected devices is triggered, an alert is sent to a control centre or emergency contact, and the appropriate response is delivered. Key features and benefits include high-clarity, hands-free speech for clear and easy communication; multiple emergency number storage allowing direct connections to control centres, landlines and mobile telephones; simple use and set up; and, compatibility with all monitoring centre equipment.
Chubb will demonstrate how a range of different TECS devices can be incorporated into the CareUnity® package to accommodate dementia care requirements. Health and wellbeing devices include personal alarm pendants, pull cord alarms, neck and wrist fall detectors, bed exit sensors, door sensors and automated pill dispensers. Chubb will also display environmental safety devices, which include temperature extremes, heat and flood detectors.
“Our assistive living technologies provide a number of highly flexible solutions to support the vulnerable and elderly across all communities,” said David Hammond, general manager, Chubb Community Care. “We find the event’s partnership with Alzheimer Scotland to be particularly pertinent as it allows us to highlight the importance of TECS within independent living accommodation for people with dementia.”
