Now in its 10th year, the Apprentice Awards are given to the top achievers within the Chubb Fire & Security apprenticeship programme, which is designed to help students excel within the Chubb working environment, develop the necessary skill-set and deliver excellent customer service.

As this year's Apprentice of the Year, Cairney consistently demonstrates high standards and a professional approach to his work said David Millett, Head of Learning & Development, Chubb. "With highly commendable testimonials from colleagues at the Glasgow branch and excellent academic performance, Craig is a young man who meets the challenges presented to him with enthusiasm and has a mature and a logical approach while providing excellent customer service."

Chubb awarded second place to Ryan Jenkins from the Cardiff branch. Jenkins was commended earlier this year at the Security Excellence Awards after winning the IFSEC Engineers of Tomorrow competition with his colleague Nathan Sefton.

Jenkins is congratulated for his mature approach, attention to detail and proactive initiative that makes him a key member of the team. Third place was awarded to Ben Cox who has proved his potential as a competent engineer. Managers are impressed with his dedication to the company, ability to work alongside engineers on demanding projects, and eagerness to learn and better himself.

"Chubb continues to lead the industry in providing high quality accredited training for its core engineering specialisation, setting itself apart from competitors. The quality of nominees continues to be very high and this is evidenced when apprentices are pitched, and win, against those from other companies at the IFSEC Engineers of Tomorrow challenge." said Millett.

The award is judged based on the apprentice's C&G Technical Certificate, NVQ achievements, grades, course work, progress test results, apprenticeship progress reports and reviews, and a nomination from their branch.
